Tron: Legacy is a 2010 science-fiction action film directed by Joseph Kosinski and the sequel to the 1982 film Tron. The story follows Sam Flynn, the adult son of computer pioneer Kevin Flynn, who investigates his father's disappearance and is transported into the digital world known as the Grid. There, Sam discovers that Kevin has been trapped for years and encounters Clu, a digital duplicate of his father who has become the ruler of the Grid. With the help of Quorra, an advanced digital being, Sam and Kevin attempt to stop Clu from escaping into the real world.
The film explores themes of technology, artificial intelligence, creation, perfection, identity, and the relationship between generations. A central conflict arises from Kevin's attempt to create a perfect digital system: Clu interprets this goal literally and ultimately turns against his creator. Tron: Legacy became particularly notable for its visual effects, 3D presentation, futuristic design, Light Cycle battles, and its electronic-orchestral soundtrack by Daft Punk.
